My Christmas Eve Routine

Happy Christmas everyone! It’s finally Christmas on Sunday and I am so so so so SO excited for the big day, but I think I love Christmas Eve probably just as much as Christmas Day; so I thought I’d share with you my evening routine.

Pyjamas – I always have a brand new pair of pyjamas for Christmas Eve, preferably something that’s a little festive, but can also be worn all year round. This year I opted for a Victorias Secret pair and they came with a free pair of slippers and little eye mask what a bonus. These will stay on all through tomorrow morning when we sit around the tree opening our presents, then enjoy bacon sandwiches for breakfast and more than likely get through half our Christmas chocolate too.

A Hot Bath – This is a must, so that I’m all clean, sparkly and ready to dive into my new pyjamas. Products of choice are either a Jo Malone bath oil or lot’s of lovely Lush goodies. This year I’m particularly fond of the Snow Fairy body conditioner and the Sleepy body lotion – amazing to layer! I’ll also be popping the snow angel melt into my bath, too – and I’ll be using the entire thing at once, you have to treat yourself at Christmas.

Chocolate – I spend the entire day devouring party food, for me party food is a must on Christmas Eve. But in the evening when it’s just my boyfriend and I (oh, and our lovely dog this year too!) we like to get the cheeseboard out and indulge in lots and lots of chocolate – none for the dog, don’t worry. I’m pretty hot chocolate obsessed also, so this year I’ve treat myself to one from Betty’s – but the Chabonnel et Walker one is also a favourite. By the way, I always add like double the recommended amount of chocolate flakes / powder when I make my hot chocolates, please tell me I’m not the only one?!

Television – The TV at Christmas is the best. I just love to wind down in the evening with a snowball drink and get myself all relaxed ready for the big sleep. The Snowman and Raymond Brigg’s Father Christmas are my two must watch shows every single year, they’re a tradition and I’ve been doing that ever since I was a child. Film wise I don’t think you can beat Toy Story or Drop Dead Fred – another tradition for me.

How do you guys enjoy your Christmas Eve? I hope you all have the most magical day tomorrow and get everything you could possibly wish for.
