Clarins BeautyBAR

Are you in need of a little me time after all the December festivities? Is your skin in need of a detox? Many of us will be feeling it after all the food and alcohol that December brought, especially our skin. Your skin may be clogged up, dull or even dry; or perhaps you’re feeling the back to work stress?

This is where Clarins have got you covered. Situated in 9 different John Lewis locations across the country, including Leeds, London and Liverpool; these little sanctuaries will remove you from the hustle and bustle of the shop floor and transport you to a world of relaxation; overhauling your skin or tension areas in just 30 minutes flat. Priced at just £25 per treatment, you’ll get 10 – 15 minutes consultation time, then a full 30 minute treatment. That’s £25 for a forty minute Clarins treatment… I’d say that’s pretty amazing.

Just before Christmas, I was lucky enough to be invited by Clarins to pop into the Leeds John Lewis store and experience one of the treatments for myself. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find that the BeautyBar is in-fact situated hidden in the middle of the shop floor, next to their makeup counter. However, what I was even more surprised to find, is how this little room can do such a good job at transporting you away from everyday life in the middle of one of the busiest department stores in the country. I honestly forgot where I was as soon as I stepped into the treatment room… amazing.

Here in Leeds you have the option of eight targeted treatments again, all priced at just £25 each. Choose from; Knot a Problem; DeStress Express; A Little He-Time (this one’s for the men); SOS Facial; Revital Eyes; Skincare Workout Facial; Get Glowing Facial and Firming Favourite Facial. You can read more about each individual treatment here; but I opted for the SOS Facial, as my skin was really suffering and was particularly dry from all the harsh winter weather.

Signature Clarins products were applied and massaged into my skin, and for 30 minutes I was transported completely away from the stress of every day life (actually, I nearly fell asleep). Once my treatment was complete, my therapist sat down with me and discussed each individual product that was applied to my skin, the benefits of it and how I could apply that or something similar at home. At no point did Clarins attempt to sell me anything, or push any products onto me – is there anything worse after you’ve just had a relaxing treatment? – and what really stood out to me, is just how much the staff here really do know their skincare. I thought I knew it all, being a beauty blogger, but even I went home with so many new tips and tricks up my sleeve.

My skin literally felt amazing for a good few days after my treatment, so good that I could have actually gone without makeup completely – had I had a tan on my face. By the way if you want one, Clarins have even got you covered on that front with the Get Glowing Facial. My skin was definitely transformed, and with regular upkeep and application of the gorgeous products (a few of my favourites are pictured below) my problematic dry skin is currently a thing of the past.

I was lucky enough to be sent these products after my treatment by Clarins, with no obligation to review. I would never blog about any products I would not purchase myself, and the products pictured above will now be permanent additions to my new skincare routine.
