Revolve, oh how I am glad I discovered this website. Possibly very late to the party, but Revolve for me has been a wonderful, yet very dangerous discovery… my debit card trembles in fear at the name. Revolve is a clothing site that is completely different from the rest; it’s the place I go when I want something new that I know no one else will be wearing – it’s cool, it’s fresh and it’s oh so stylish.
I recently made a few purchases on there, and every item that’s arrived has been so beautiful, so unique and so on trend. It’s kind of hard to know where to begin with Revolve, as they stock that much… but the perks of that are that you’re guaranteed to find something you love. Prices are a little on the higher side, depending on what you go for – but all the purchases that I’ve made have been really special, and worth the splurge. I’ve been having a huge clear out over the past few moths, being extremely ruthless with anything I don’t need / use anymore and selling it on eBay. This has allowed me to completely transform my wardrobe (I had clothes that were almost 5 years old, with the labels still attached) and pave the way for some really key investment pieces. Now don’t get me wrong, I won’t be ditching ASOS and Pretty Little Thing anytime soon, and I usually don’t spend so much on my clothes (I much prefer to spend my money on accessories and dress up high street outfits) but having that clear out did allow me to pick up a few special bits that will really take pride of place in my wardrobe.
The site is American, but ships to the UK at a very reasonable rate of around about £7, free if you place an order over $100. However, do be warned that taxes and duties are added at checkout; and can catch you out if you have your heart set on an item, then get to payment and realise the price has just gone up – obviously the more your item costs, the more tax is added. However, this does mean that you’ll face no nasty customs fees when your items arrive at your door. Delivery takes about 10 – 14 days to the UK, so if you’re looking for this weekends new outfit, it’s probably best to look elsewhere – but if you have a special event or holiday coming up, it’s perfect. The only other thing I would be careful about – and this is a big one – is that if you decide to return an item, you have to cover the shipping fees, and the taxes and duties aren’t included within the refund; these can however be claimed back by filling out a HM Revenue & Customs form, but that can be a bit of a faff, so do be sure that you are 100% sure on your order. But all that being said, and as long as you’re sure on your size and clear that you want to keep the item – every box that’s arrived from Revolve I’ve opened with a delighted gasp – the items really are stunning. Anyway, enough of the rabble, what exactly did I purchase…
Tularosa X Revolve Georgia Dress* (pictured above) – The most beautiful blush pink summer dress, this is what first attracted me to the site. I can’t wait to throw this on, on my holiday. It’s the perfect day to night dress and would look equally as good thrown over a bikini as it would out to dinner.
House of Harlow 1960 X Revolve Davis Dress* – How. Stunning. Is. This. Dress? Seriously… Purchased especially for my holiday, another one that will look equally as wonderful dressed up or used as a daytime cover up. The House of Harlow clothing label is created by Nicole Richie, and every piece is as beautiful and unique as the next.
House of Harlow Romper – Unfortunately this one is now out of stock, however luckily for me it was the last one (and in my size) and I managed to swipe it for the bargain price of £25, it should have actually been £140!
Lovers + Friends Tropical Oasis Dress* – Sorry guys, unfortunately no picture of this one, as it’s still on the way to me; but how much does this dress scream summer? I adore it! Well, on the picture I do, hopefully when it arrives it will be just as beautiful as the rest.
That’s me now all spent up, but it also means my holiday wardrobe is now complete. I’ve been purchasing lots of items throughout the year and saving them for when we go away. I really would recommend Revolve for when you need something that little bit special.
