The Summer Wardrobe Staple Shoe – Castañer Carina Canvas Wedge Espadrilles

Castañer Carina Canvas Wedge Espadrilles

Or as I am calling them at the moment… the summer shoe of dreams. These beautiful wedge espadrilles are SO comfortable, can work to dress an outfit up or down; and work perfectly for both the Summer and Spring seasons. Sometimes it’s difficult to get a shoe that can look glamorous and provide comfort; but these wedges honestly feel like you’re wearing flats – I adore them.

Now credit where credit is due, my purchase was totally influenced by THIS lovely lady (and it’s not the first time she’s influenced one of my purchases – I highly recommend checking her out), as soon as I them it I knew I had to own them – and I’ve had zero regrets with regards to my decision, at all. They’re slightly pricier than the standard espadrilles, but not excessively so – especially for a Net a Porter purchase. I actually contemplated getting a Topshop pair of wedge espadrilles a few weeks ago and would have paid just £25 less than I did for the Castañer Pair. And whilst I absolutely love Topshop, it’s not everyday that you can get a pair of shoes that were created by the same designer whom also designed the first ever wedge espadrille for Saint Laurent; comfort, style and quality were the big driving factors behind this purchase.

What I also adore about these espadrilles is the ankle tie; such a huge trend this summer, it;s so flattering and really helps to give them that extra special touch. I was slightly concerned that due to the ankle tie, they may not feel too secure when walking; but again, no worries there. The canvas at the front of the shoe really hugs the foot to provide that extra level of security, whilst also managing to look delicate at the same time.

The wedge heel height comes in at 3 inches (80mm), but as mentioned above, they honestly feel like you’re wearing flats. I’m so pleased to have found a pretty summer shoe that can really work to dress up an outfit (probably not night on the town dressed up – they are white! – but you know what I mean) and feel comfortable and secure at the same time. Due to the high quality of the shoe, they’ll also last for a good few summers to come… therefore completely worth the money in my opinion.
