A Snowy Spa Day and Fun at the Christmas Markets

The Bridge Hotel & Spa Wetherby

I couldn’t believe my luck last weekend when I went for a spa day with my best friends, and as we were sat in the outdoor hot tub, it began to snow! I literally felt like we were on a holiday somewhere far away, it was lovely and incredibly relaxing. We tend to get snow in the UK around February time, so to get it so close to Christmas, and at the most opportune moment, we couldn’t believe our luck. There’s something so, so relaxing about sitting in a hot tub whilst flurries of snowflakes fall all around you, and bring with it that serene calm to the air – perfect.

We went over to The Bridge Hotel & Spa in Wetherby (Yorkshire) to experience their Chocolate Orange Festive treat. This included free use of the beautiful spa, and a chocolate orange leg and foot exfoliation and massage. We were even given our own chocolate orange candle afterwards. It was the loveliest way to get relaxed and prepared for the upcoming Christmas mayhem. We also indulged in hot chocolates and chocolate cake – a chocoholics dream! As well as the outdoor hot tub and plunge pool, the spa also boasts an outdoor sauna, indoor sauna and steam room, lavender room, relaxing foot baths,  a shower experience and also a rasual mud room – it’s the perfect place to just escape for a good few hours. We also indulged in a beautiful Christmas dinner there afterwards – it was absolutely gorgeous and I actually haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. To end the day, my boyfriend and I took the dog on a long walk in the snow, which he absolutely loved – I’ve never seen him so crazy, happily running about all over the place.

This week I also got into the festive spirit by taking a trip to the Leeds Christmas markets with the family. We indulged in lots of fried cheese (sounds wrong, but is so good), fried potatoes, cheese bratwursts, crepes and chocolate fruit sticks. My nephew and I also love riding the carousel there; they play the most beautiful Christmas songs as you go around – and you get quite a generous amount of time on there too.

I also couldn’t finish my week of festivities off without indulging in my favourite Christmas coffee this year – the Starbucks frozen egg nog latte. I’m potentially going to turn into one, I’ve consumed that many; but they’re not around forever and Christmas is for indulging – so I’m making the most of it!

I hope everyone’s enjoyed the festivities this December. I feel like I’ve had such a lovely month, it’s probably been my best Christmas to date so far – I’ve just been saying yes to every invite and opportunity and really making the most of it and enjoying everything. Thank you so much to everyone who has read my blog this year, sharing my favourite things and experiences with you all really does make me so happy and excited – I adore my little space on the internet, and I hope you will stick around in 2018 for more. Have a lovely, lovely Christmas everyone – I hope all your dreams come true.
