Lush Skincare Saviours

Lush Ultrabland, Lush Skin's Shangri La

I’m pretty serious about my skincare routine, it’s something that I’ve been doing since a young age and so I guess it’s just turned into a good habit – I never miss an evening; and in-fact my friends and boyfriend often make fun of me because of how precise I am with doing it. However, when travelling – be it for work, or just going on a holiday – it’s not always easy to keep up to that routine, especially with luggage restrictions and what not. That’s why I also have a dedicated routine for when I travel… my Lush skincare saviours.

You see these two pots are all I need with me, they’re small, lightweight and do a really great job of giving my skin what it needs. Ultrabland is a nifty little pot that’s super simple, yet super effective. It’s great for sensitive skin, as it’s effectively as the name would suggest… bland – that being in scent, there basically is no scent to it. It’s composed of rose water, beeswax, honey and almond oil and does a pretty bloody incredible job of removing makeup and impurities from your face. I’d go as far as to say that this would be great for anyone who has to wear heavy / theatrical makeup etc, because it really does remove everything whilst keeping your skin super nourished and comfortable. It has a thick, balmy type texture; so does need to be removed, but it can easily be washed away with water, or taken off with a toner. It’s actually that nourishing that you could almost get away with not even having to apply a moisturiser afterwards, should you be in a rush.

Unfortunately, my dry skin doesn’t bless me with the option of skipping a moisturiser; but it’s not really an issue for me when applying this one is such a treat. Skin’s Shangri La, I like to view as a spa / holiday for my skin. I really enjoy taking it on holiday with me and smothering it on in the evening. It’s pretty much perfect for hot weather too, as it’s one of the most lightweight moisturisers I’ve ever used, yet it really¬†hydrates. My skin always feels velvety to the touch when I’ve applied and let this sink in, and it doesn’t irritate me at all, not even when I apply it under my eyes. Made with nourishing oils, cocoa butter and beeswax, this is a must have treat for the skin. I take a pot with me on holidays (we usually go for two weeks) and I’m still using it for about 2 months afterwards, and I really treat my skin to it when away – I need the hydration after plane journeys and being in the sun all day. Well done on this one Lush, you have a huge fan in me.
