Tom Ford Rose Prick

I’ve got a bit of an obsession at the moment with Tom Ford fragrances. It started off with Soleil Blanc, and as soon as I saw the Rose Prick packaging – I knew I had to get that one too (shallow, I know). I actually blind bought this one, which is always a risk, but my goodness am I glad I did. It’s right up my street, it’s a bit like Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud – but dare I say it, more refined and more complex… it’s also less oud-y too, but it’s that same kind of gorgeous rose jam scent – not old lady floral and powdery at all.

It’s a really warm, spicy fragrance, and it’s probably more suited to cooler days; but I don’t think it would be terrible on a hot day either, to be fair – it’s just quite strong, so you obviously wouldn’t need as much, or it may get a bit overwhelming with the heat. Whilst I predominantly get a rose jam note from this, it is a very complex (in a wonderful way) fragrance, and there are so, so many stunning notes in there; patchouli being another main one I pick up, but I also get earthy, and spicy tones, as well as some citrus and vanilla. It’s a lovely fragrance – but I tend to have quite a refined taste in fragrance and often go for very masculine or sweet / gourmand scents – and I know these aren’t to everyones taste.

I know I blind bought this, but I really wouldn’t recommend that to people, especially not for such a pricey purchase; but it’s definitely one to make a point of checking out next time you can. I love it. Would I buy it again? One million percent, yes.
