The “Under the Radar” Luxury Handbag That Doesn’t Scream Designer

Freja NYC, is the brand – incase you wanted to skip the waffle – and how gorgeous is it? I’ve had this for about six months now, and it still looks as good as new, it’s vegan leather (but you wouldn’t be able to tell) and gives me such 90s vibes. I honestly right now pick this bag up more than any others in my collection – no one here in the UK (that I hang about with) has heard of the brand, it isn’t covered in any logos, yet I just feel so elevated and put together when I wear it. It’s so well made, it doesn’t need a designer logo, but it is designer quality. So much so, that I’ve just purchased it in cream too.

They are (obviously) based in NYC, but do ship to the UK, though shipping will set you back an extra £40, and there’s custom fees to pay too – but the bag itself will cost you about £250. Pricey, yes, but for the quality, luxury feel, and unique design – I honestly think the price point is incredible. There’s also no hardware at all on the bag – which I often find can cheapen a piece, if you’re not careful – so that was a huge bonus.

It’s also a very versatile piece, I’ve used this for afternoon tea in the daytime, evening restaurant visits, and even a wedding party. It doesn’t hold the world – mine fits my card holder, small makeup pouch, house and car keys, a small perfume, and my phone nice and easily; and can be closed with the leather flap over the bag, or worn “open” as I do, with the leather flap rested inside the bag. It’s very well structured too, and comes with a piece of (vegan) leather, that keeps the straps close together, if you wish. I think the design is exceptionally clever, and a very welcome, fresh addition to the market.

Well done Freja – you have a new fan in me.
