My Favourite Lifestyle Books

Ready Steady Glow by Madeline Shaw, It's a Pleasure by Virpi Mikkonen, All in Good Taste by Kate Spade, Radical Self Love by Gala Darling, How to be a Grown Up By Daisy Buchanan, Capture Your Style by Aimee Song, The Goddess Experience by Gisele Scanlon

I have an endless collection of books that I love to frequently dip in and out of, but there’s a handful that I find myself thumbing through more often than any others. These ones are all lifestyle, non-fiction books – but there’s a lovely mix of different genres and styles in here.

Ready Steady Glow by Madeline Shaw – A jam packed recipe book full of so many different suggestions, that look just as good as they taste. This book is well worth the money, due to the amount of recipes you get in there and the uplifting, inspiring advice for making those healthier lifestyle decisions. If you’re wanting to add a bit of nutritional goodness into your diet, but don’t know where to start, or just don’t find the prospect exciting at all, you’ll find this book super helpful. I also appreciate that Madeline uses ingredients that can easily be sourced at your local supermarket. A delight to read.

It’s a Pleasure by Virpi Mikkonen – I have a huge sweet tooth, huge. At the beginning of the year I decided I wanted to try making better food choices where I can, especially when cooking at home. A very pretty book, full of equally as pretty recipe suggestions. A cookbook full of cakes and desserts that don’t contain any gluten, dairy or refined sugar that aren’t at all overly complex to make. Try it, you may be pleasantly surprised.

All in Good Taste by Kate Spade – This is the prettiest coffee table book ever. I adore Kate Spade designs, and if you do too – this book won’t let you down. Full of tips and advice all around entertaining etiquette; it also has recipes, anecdotes and lovely ideas. It’s crammed full of information and gorgeous drawings, allowing you to dip in and out whenever you feel the need.

Radical Self Love by Gala Darling – Beautiful cover aside, another amazing book. It has tonnes of girl friendly, positive advice; accompanied by so many pretty little illustrations. A magical book that every woman should own.

How to be a Grown Up By Daisy Buchanan – For any woman who is struggling with the modern day expectations of feeling like you should have your whole life together by a certain age. A humorous, honest read; it’s like catching up with your best friend. Full of kindness, sparkle and wit – I love it. It’s one of those Sunday morning reads with a coffee and a croissant, a real treat – if you’re feeling at all lost, pick this up and you’ll be back to feeling like your wonderful self in no time.

Capture Your Style by Aimee Song – Aimee has one of the most stunning Instagram feeds you ever did see. In this book she shares all her tips, hints and techniques for perfecting your grid. Even if that’s something you’re not too interested in, this is still a lovely book to have in your collection. It has such beautiful visuals and if you enjoy Instagram, you’ll enjoy this.

The Goddess Experience by Gisele Scanlon – If I could have one (well, technically two) favourite book(s) ever; it would have to be The Goddess Guide books. The Goddess Guide is the book I’ve kept with me the longest, and is what inspired me to create my blog to begin with. The one pictured is The Goddess Experience, part two of the set. I remember when it was released years ago, I used my last bit of student money to jump on the bus to Waterstones and grab a copy – picking it up still fills me with that same excitement. It’s like a stunning scrapbook of happiness. I recently read a review that stated “there’s not a woman alive that wouldn’t love it” and I’d say they got that one pretty spot on. These two books will stay on my bookshelf even when the pages are yellowing and old. They’re like little treasures to me.
