28 Simple Ways to Implement Self Care Into Your Everyday Life

Buy a huge bunch of fresh flowers for yourself, just because

Invest some time (Saturday mornings are perfect for this) in getting lost in a really good book

Go for a really long walk to your favourite place and really breathe in that fresh air. For me, it’s one of our local woodland parks, and I ensure I make the time every week to take the dog for a long walk here

Following on nicely from that one, put your phone down for an hour. I rarely take my phone with me on those walks, and instead just enjoy the stillness and nature

Stockpile your favourite Lush items and take a really long, indulgent bath

Allow yourself to enjoy the gym / exercise without stressing over an end goal. Release those endorphins and just enjoy moving and being in the moment

Take some time out to prioritise your beauty routine. Buy an electric toothbrush, take some time out to relax with a face mask, apply some aromatherapy oils

Treat yourself to your favourite sweet treat. Paper wrapped brownies from our local bakery are always a winner for me

Put some fresh bedding on – is there anything better than sinking into a freshly made bed!?

Sleep! Take some time to have an early night every now and again, and enjoy it…

Find your passion (for me it’s my blog) and prioritise time for this on your agenda

Fill your home with beautifully scented candles and light them all at once

Take ten minutes to sit back and enjoy a cup of tea (or hot chocolate, if you’e anything like me) in absolute silence

Get your favourite Starbucks order, and add extra shots!

Cook up a huge meal packed full of tasty, fresh ingredients. Make sure you put your phone to one side when eating it, and really enjoy the textures, flavours and the feeling it gives you

Spend time with those you love, those that make you laugh, and those that bring out the best in you. Anyone who doesn’t make you feel good, or you don’t look forward to spending time with – forget them

Spring clean your space and detox all the clutter. A clear home makes for a clear mind

Spend a day at the beach

Bring out your inner child, go to the theme park, eat sugar doughnuts until you feel like you’re going to burst, go trampolining, go roller skating…

Take a day to enjoy a super long lie in

Eat a piece of cake for breakfast

Wear your favourite colour, at least once a week

Take the scenic route every now and again, the world is so beautiful when you open your eyes and look for it

Curate your social media feeds, unfollow anyone who isn’t making you feel 100% wonderful

Create a “happy list” and make sure you do one thing on it every single day

Give yourself a manicure / pedicure

Open up the curtains and let some natural light into your space

Buy. The. Shoes. As the old saying goes “Buy the shoes, life is short” – if you have the money and they will make you happy, stop stressing and just go for it. Then make sure you bloody well enjoy them.
