The Huda Beauty New Nude Eyeshadow Palette

The Huda Beauty New Nude Eyeshadow Palette

Huda Beauty. In all honesty, not something I’ve ever been that particularly interested in trying. With makeup these days, I tend to stick to the brands I know and love – Charlotte Tilbury, Urban Decay, Mac etc… and for someone who blogs about beauty quite a lot, I’m probably not all that adventurous. Then one evening a couple of weeks ago I was mindlessly scrolling Instagram for the 16th time that day and came across a picture of said palette. Oh, Instagram… Did I need another eyeshadow palette? No. Did I have room for another eyeshadow palette? No. Should I have been buying eyeshadow palettes within the first month of buying a new house? No. Did I buy this eyeshadow palette? Instantly.

You know that stupid phrase that everyone’s using on the internet right now “I’m shook”, well, erm… I kind of get it now, BECAUSE I AM, I AM SHOOK!!! Okay, cringe. But oh my god – it’s the only way I can describe how I feel about this palette. WHY have I never tried a Huda Beauty product before?! First glance at the price, I thought it was a bit steep… but, wait a second – I’ll happily splash nearly £40 on 4 Tilbury eyeshadows, that are individually much smaller than any of the pans in this palette? Well yeah, but that’s because I know I’m getting quality with CT – guys, Huda Beauty is also quality – and for the amount of shades, the sheer quality alone, and the size of the pans compared to the majority of other top selling palettes on the market; I’d say actually, you’re really not getting a bad deal at all.

You get 18 shades: 10 mattes; 4 shimmers; 2 glitters; 1 pressed pearlescent shade; and 1 concealer. The concealer isn’t actually for under the eyes though, it’s to use on the eyelid, almost as a primer, and it just adds more intensity to your shades – it’s also great for cutting out a crease, if you wanted to do that. Now you know when people describe eyeshadows as “buttery soft”, well these epitomise that, especially the shimmers. The palette is pretty wow in itself anyway, but it’s those shimmers that really stand out for me – I’ve never tried anything else like them. They feel and apply like a cream almost, but they’re not, they’re powder – I got no fallout from them whatsoever either – that’s important to me, because as they are such a beautiful addition to the palette, I don’t want to waste any of the product. It’s pretty much the same with the glitter shades too, obviously there’s slightly more of a texture, because they are glitter, but it’s not that annoying glitter that goes all over the place and just adds a pathetic wash of colour to your look; nope, they’re as pigmented as they are in the palette, and apply so effortlessly.

I’ve swatched all the shades for you – I know, I need to up my swatching game; but to be honest, I’d rather just keep things as realistic as possible on here, so I’m not too concerned about it really. Anyway, these are all swatched without the concealer underneath, and they’re pretty pigmented just on their own; but what’s great, is that you can use the palette and its numerous shades for a soft, daytime look; or really up the glam and make them pop with the concealer. It’s such a versatile palette; and I often like to summarise my beauty reviews with a “do you need it though?”… well actually, if you’re into eyeshadow, and you use it a lot, this one really might just be appreciated in your collection. I for one am delighted I stumbled upon it, and I’ll now be looking at other products – particularly more eyeshadows – that the brand has to offer. Really impressive.
