A Huge Haul – Fashion, Beauty and Homeware Haul

IMG_5847.JPGScreenshot 2019-04-04 at 17.17.47.pngI’ve had a pretty busy couple of months recently; we’ve finally started decorating our house (goodbye constant white and grey!), and really making it our own. In turn, it means I’ve not had too much time to blog – so I thought I’d do a bit of a round up of all the gorgeous bits I’ve been purchasing recently. There’s quite a lot, so when I say recently, I don’t mean within a few weeks – these have been over the past couple of months. These haul posts always seem to go down really well, so I hope you enjoy.

I have a real obsession with the Hotel Magique brand, and one of my favourite things I purchased recently, was two of their prints for the hallway leading up to our bedroom (top picture). I think they’re so quirky and different, and they make me smile every time I walk past them. The brand also recently did a collaboration with Sezane, where they brought out a T shirt range – one for each day of the month; with October being my favourite month ever, that’s the one I picked up. The design is just so very me, and reiterates the reason I love the brand so much.

Speaking of clothes, I also treat myself to one of the new season Zimmermann pieces – a gorgeous red blouse. I don’t usually buy Zimmermann full price – only ever on sale – as it’s just so ridiculously expensive, but I just couldn’t get this piece off my mind; and I searched high and low for something similar, to no avail. This really was an extra special one off treat, but nonetheless, one I’m glad I managed to get my hands on.

Makeup and beauty wise, I picked up the Nars Ignited eyeshadow palette. I had initially had my eye on the Huda Beauty rose gold palette, but only about half of the colours would have worked on me, so I did a bit of rose gold palette research, and discovered the Nars option. It’s really beautiful, and I’ll also get my wear out of every single shade, as oppose to just a few. I also picked myself up another Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk blush – I was gifted my first one by the brand, but have used it that much, it was starting to run low – it’s definitely a cult product for me now. And then last but not least on the beauty front, I’ve discovered recently – and become very obsessed with – the Gypsy Water perfume… I know, I’m late to the party. I’m going to do a full blog post on that one, as I am that obsessed.

Something I’ve been desperate for, for about a year now, was an Anya Hindmarch personalised bookmark. Expensive, but something that will last and can be treasured forever. I finally got my wish this month, and had our wedding illustrator write me out a quote to have engraved on there. The personalised range is such an amazing idea for an extra special gift – you can literally have anything, any handwriting you like engraved on her pieces. So special.

If you read my blog often, you’ll also know I have a thing for crystals – and so I treat myself to a huge amethyst point from my favourite crystal shop in London – She’s Lost Control.

Homeware wise, I very recently discovered that we have a Neptune store near us – pretty much just around the corner, actually. If you’ve never been to a Neptune store, you simply must make visiting a priority. They are set up like an actual home, but you can pick up all the pieces and actually buy them – ours also has a tea room, and some gorgeous independent brands in there too. It’s my favourite place to visit at the moment, and I’ve been introducing all my friends to it. It’s actually what inspired us to start painting the house, and their paint colour ranges are incredible – we picked up some lovely colours and progress with those is well underway.

Naturally, that then inspired lots of accessories for the house… including lots of new blooms (which will soon be against a more colourful background); vases, salad bowls and serving plates, candlesticks, mugs (I’m especially obsessed with the giant grey one I picked up – perfect for hot chocolate), salt and pepper pots, a new pestle & mortar and last but not least an artificial potted plant – one of the most realistic I’ve ever seen. It’s safe to say the kitchen has had a bit of an upheaval since we discovered Neptune, which will be nicely finished off by a splash of Alpine on the walls. I’m going to do a bit of a “blank canvas new build makeover” blog post once we’ve finished the painting, to show how we really made use of the colour – as I think decorating a completely blank canvas can be slightly overwhelming – but for now, I’ve attached a couple of pictures to show our lovely new pieces in action.
