Making the Most of October

Ahh lovely October! Even though normality with everyones life hasn’t resumed, and we were meant to be getting married this month – I was still determined to make the most of things this month, and looking back at all my lovely pictures, I think I succeeded.

I enjoyed breakfast this week at my favourite spot, The Wild Plum, and obviously with it being hot chocolate season – I indulged massively! I also spent a few days dressing the outside of our house for Halloween – I don’t really like to put pictures on the blog of the outside of the house – obviously for security reasons, but I did a spider theme complete with a giant spider, and lots and lots of cobwebs!

We still managed to celebrate our would be wedding day too with a trip to the seaside, and then a baking day and film night. We had so many beautiful gifts sent through too, and it just made everything so special…

We actually had a trip to the Lake District this month, unexpectedly. Our dog, Comet, really hasn’t been well, and we ended up having to go to a specialist surgeon there. We had to wait whilst he had the surgery, so we tried to make the best of a bad situation and spent a few hours enjoying Ullswater nearby. Although it was quite a stressful time, and I’d have preferred for it not to happen – we did manage to enjoy a few hours there and relax a bit, which was nice.

I’ve also done my usual woodland toadstool hunting this month (sorry – I know you are all probably sick of the sight of them!), I’m a bit obsessed aren’t I… Ooh, and on the way home from a lovely chilly autumnal walk and toadstool hunt, I picked myself up some proper cinnamon buns – chocolate flavour! – and then headed over to my mums garden to sit in there for a while with a hot drink. Although I may or may not have intentionally left the cinnamon buns in the car.

This month I also treat myself to some gorgeous bits from The Vampires Wife, I am utterly obsessed with the brand, and picked myself up their Spilt Milk t shirt, and also a stunning scarf.

I’m writing this blog post on Halloween afternoon, and I’m really excited for this evening. I’m going to enjoy an evening of Chinese food, scary films, and tarot cards.
