Coffee Table Books I’m Obsessed With Right Now

David Hockney: A Chronology – Taschen

I LOVE this book, so much. I love it that much, I bought two copies, one for downstairs, one for upstairs. My Mum said I must have money to burn… nope, it’s just that special. Hockney is my favourite artist, but even if he isn’t yours, any budding art lover would enjoy this I think. So lovely to just dip in and out of for some complete escapism.

In Bloom – Clare Nolan

The book that makes me think I’m a professional flower arranger. The most stunning collection of images, but with some genuinely really helpful advice regarding flower growing and arranging. A must have if you love flowers; one of my favourite things is curling up on the sofa and opening this book on a random page and losing myself for an hour or so.

The Flower Yard – Arthur Parkinson

Another must have for anyone who loves gardening. This book really is stunning, and is packed full of incredible information. This one is all about gardening in pots – which I must admit I have a bit of a penchant for at the moment; he has a few books on the market, and I’ve added the others to my wish list, simply based on how much I enjoy this one.

The Complete Gardener – Monty Don

I know… there’s a bit of a theme here. But if you are into gardening, THIS is the book I’d recommend above all others. There is honestly so. much. information. in here. I’ve ordered a few gardening books before, and ended up returning them, because most of the information there I can just get from google – but this one is like a gardening bible. It’s amazing, and of course is accompanied by amazing imagery too. A real treasure.

The Secret Gardeners – Victoria Summerley, Hugo Rittson Thomas

So probably not one you’re going to sit and read cover to cover – but the perfect addition to your coffee table. It’s full of garden tours from some of Britains most creative people, think Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, Prue Leith, Cath Kidston. Incredible visuals, and a generous size that will look gorgeous in the living room.
