The Rhode Winter Drop – Caffeine Reset Mask and Peptide Lip Boost

The consumerism final boss is back, with another Rhode drop. Rhode’s Winter Drop obviously reeled me in – again – and I was (as per usual) extremely excited for their products to release. I was also very interested to see if these would actually live up to the hype once I tried them myself, as there were some pretty big claims – particularly around the mask – all over TikTok.

After using both for a while now, I definitely have thoughts.

Let’s start with the Caffeine Reset Mask, because this is the product I was the most unsure about at first.

Rhode describes this as a sculpting, depuffing mask that helps skin look more awake and lifted. I personally do not think any skincare product can truly sculpt your face shape. That is just not something a topical product can realistically do. However, what I do think this mask does very well is reduce water retention and morning puffiness, which can absolutely give the appearance of more definition.

So I can understand why people are describing it as sculpting.

For me, the biggest benefit is how energised my skin looks after using it. It gives that slightly flushed, healthy glow you get about an hour after finishing a workout when your circulation is up and your skin just looks alive again. It is honestly one of my favourite products to use before makeup for a day or night out because it makes everything sit better and look fresher.

One thing that’s really important with this mask (I think) is following the instructions properly and rinsing it off with water rather than just wiping it away. That step activates the moisturising layer it leaves behind and helps your skin stay hydrated afterwards – they put something out about it on insta, there’s a product in it that water is attracted to (maybe check out their instagram posts rather than listening to my haphazard attempt at describing it – but I have found it rings true). When I do that, my skin always feels soft, calm and properly prepped. Is it a miracle mask? No.But do I like it? Yes.

It is probably too expensive for me personally to justify using every day, but as a special occasion skin prep step it has definitely earned a place in my routine.

The Peptide Lip Boost, on the other hand, was love almost immediately.

I chose the Sweet Mint version and I honestly cannot get enough of it. It has a mild tingle which I could take or leave, but to be fair, the tingle gives me a really clean, fresh feeling which makes me feel really put together. The texture is superrrrr thick and balmy without feeling heavy, and most importantly it actually stays on overnight, all night…  That is something I have struggled to find with other lip masks.

I’ve been using this as an overnight lip treatment and waking up with extremely moisturised lips every time. It’s one of those products where you notice the difference straight away and then keep noticing it the longer you use it. I cannot really comment on the plumping effect because I already have lip filler, so that’s not something I personally see a change in, but in terms of nourishment and hydration, oh yes! I also think this would be perfect for flights or anywhere with dry air because it lasts so well and keeps lips comfortable for hours. This is one I will definitely keep repurchasing.

Overall, I think this was a really strong launch from Rhode. Can they ever get it wrong?! Come on Rhode, my bank account needs a rest!

The Peptide Lip Boost is something I will happily keep using long term and honestly can’t see myself being without now. The Caffeine Reset Mask feels more like a targeted treatment product rather than an everyday essential for me, but it is brilliant before makeup and when my skin is looking tired or puffy. If I had to choose just one, it would be the lip mask without hesitation. This one feels like a forever product in my routine.
