Sweet Treats, Pampering and Creating a Fairy Garden

It’s been quiet on the blog again, mainly because I’ve finally been enjoying the lockdown restrictions easing. We’ve been enjoying entertaining our friends and family – with lots of sweet treats! – and just getting used to normal life resuming, which has been lovely. I also managed to get my nails booked in, and after not having them done for 5 months, it felt wonderful, and just really made me feel like me again.

I also got to book back in with my reflexologist – pre covid, I used to go once a month, and she hasn’t been able to open since the first lockdown; and this was one of the things I really missed the most, so that was wonderful. Oh and I also had a back neck and shoulder massage too – again, something I’ve not been able to enjoy since lockdowns first started – it really makes you appreciate how much we take for granted.

One thing I did start doing during the lockdowns, was indulging in all the sweet treat delivery boxes that really blew up due to people coming up with all these amazing, creative new business ideas. It gave me something to look forward to and enjoy, and I’ve tried to carry that little tradition on, with a once a month treat – trying something different each time. I really enjoy discovering all these new treats and places, and I think if Covid didn’t happen, I wouldn’t have been able to experience half of these gorgeous treats due to them not being local.

With the gorgeous weather finally surfacing, I also got pretty creative in the garden, and made my very own fairy garden pot. I’ve wanted one of these for so long – I always see them on Pinterest, but could never find one to purchase that wasn’t a ridiculously extortionate price – and so, I decided to create my own. I think the terracotta pot cost me £3 from my local garden centre, and I took a hammer to it, strategically placed some soil; and the rest kind of took shape from there. The little flowers in there are real – they are sweet alyssum – and smell incredible, further adding to the magical effect. I’m really pleased with it, and really proud too; and it’s also withstood any weathering in the garden so far, mainly thanks to a bit of gorilla glue!

A short and sweet post from me today, because as I say, we are just taking some time to adjust and enjoy a bit more reality – but I do have lots of lovely and exciting plans coming up over the next month, which I can’t wait to share.
