There’s nothing I love more than planning little events and get togethers for people – especially when it involves a birthday. Obviously for the past year and a half, there hasn’t been that many times we’ve been able to go out and enjoy experiences such as afternoon tea; and throughout lockdown – I’ve started becoming a bit of a creative at putting on my own!
Well, I say putting on… if you consider arranging the food that someone else baked putting on; then yeah, I’m an expert – it’s all in the creativity!
This month was my sisters birthday; and so I thought I’d create a really magical weekend experience for her to enjoy. As June is the month of midsummer, I thought I’d theme it around that, and magical fairy woodlands.
Luckily, the plans coincided with one of the hottest weekends of the year so far; and so we were able to sit in my garden all afternoon playing card games; then venture off to the local woods for a cool down in the shade and a little BBQ. It honestly felt like being on holiday, and I know it put us all in such a wonderful mood.
Because it was a full weekend thing, I also laid on a gorgeous breakfast spread – and on the Sunday, finished off with the “ultimate” Sunday dinner – basically just every Sunday dinner item you can imagine thrown on there – amazing.
