Rhode – The Products I Love, and the Products I Can Live Without

My gosh does Rhode have me in a chokehold. It’s one of those brands that just gets me – from the minimalist packaging to the thoughtful product line up, it’s all very much in line with my own values, aesthetic, and interests, and I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve been invested in it since day one.

Everything feels considered. I feel like they’re not about flooding the market with a hundred products, but are all about creating those few staples that slip into your routine and instantly make you wonder how you ever managed without them. This really aligns with that more simple aesthetic I feel like we are all enjoying more in 2025.

The Products I Love

These are the products that, if Rhode ever discontinued them, I would be devastated.

Lip Treatments

Quite possibly the product that made me fall in love with Rhode in the first place. They feel silky, cushiony, and give just the right amount of gloss without being sticky. My handbag, bedside table, and makeup bag each have one permanently stashed. It was the first product I ever bought from the brand, and I still get that excitement that I had two years ago, whenever the little grey box lands on my doorstep.

Lip Tints

The tinted versions take everything I love about the originals and add a hint of colour that feels polished but still wearable. The limited edition shades are my obsession – Jellybean, Lemontini, Shortcake, Guava Spritz, and Salty Tan are all in heavy rotation, and my god the aesthetic they add to my dressing table… They’re the perfect balance of sheer and buildable, and I find myself reaching for them more and more these days, over any traditional lipstick.

Glazing Milk

I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do, but it’s now a twice daily step. It preps my skin beautifully before makeup, giving that  “glow from within” look. I especially love it under lighter coverage bases, but also use it before my moisturiser on an evening too.

Barrier Butter

This is chef’s kiss for my night time routine. It’s a really deeply nourishing balms that gets rid of dry patches instantly. I initially tried to save it for when my skin felt stressed or needs a little extra TLC, but the addiction took over, and it’s now my daily evening moisturiser.

Pocket Blush

Rhode really did do something with these, and I feel like they’re what turned the makeup game around for me, introducing me to a much lighter and softer daytime makeup look. The shades are flattering without being overdone, the blend is seamless, and they fit into pretty much any bag.

Glazing Mist

Verrrrry much true to its name, a few spritzes and my skin looks plump, fresh, and like I’ve had eight hours of sleep. I keep one on in my handbag to revive makeup halfway through the day.

The Products I Can Live Without

Even  in a line up I adore, there are products I reach for less – not because they’re bad, but because they just don’t fit as effortlessly into my routine.

Glazing Serum

I do like the texture, but I find myself forgetting to use it, and sometimes I don’t really see the point in it. I think it’s because Glazing Milk gives me a similar “prepped and hydrated” feel, so the serum just doesn’t get as much love, and doesn’t really do anything different to me.

Barrier Cream

Another one I like, but rarely reach for. I think this is because the barrier butter took over for me here… It’s lightweight and sits nicely under makeup, but I have other moisturisers I use more often, and when I need serious hydration I go straight for the butter.

Final Word

I think what makes Rhode stand out for me is that it feels like an actual lifestyle brand, not just a brand there to sell you skincare. There’s no unnecessary noise, just products that are designed to slot into your everyday life and actually work.

The ones I love, I really love, and they’ve become part of my daily routine so quickly and easily. If you’ve been thinking about trying Rhode for the first time, I’d say start with the lip treatments (tinted or clear) and the glazing milk – they’re the products that truly sold me on the brand and still make me feel excited every time I use them.
