It’s taken me forever to find an evening bag I’m happy with – something that I can use as a clutch, but also has a shoulder strap, something chic that’s just the right size – but big enough for essentials, yet still small enough to stay effortless. Enter the Chloé Spin Flap Wallet on Chain, a beautiful leather piece that finally, finally met my needs. Crafted from beautifully textured grained buffalo leather, it’s a minimalist silhouette with a gold shoulder strap chain, with the iconic Chloé and Horse Medal charms dangling at the end of the chain, just to add that little stand out twist.
At 20 × 10 × 4 cm, it fits my phone, cards and a lipstick without looking bulky. That being said, any more iPhone size upgrades (I currently have the largest one you can get at the moment), the phone won’t fit anymore.Running errands or heading to dinner, the chain strap allows me to switch between crossbody and shoulder wear. It’s versatile, elegant, and evening appropriate. Plus, organisation lovers like me can rejoice… Two main compartments, a zipped section, six card slots, plus an external pocket means everything has its place. The natural grain leather will apparently soften over time, developing character – so it only becomes more ‘you’ as you wear it.
It retails for £950 on the Chloe website, personally, I wouldn’t pay that for a bag of that size, regardless of how beautiful – I managed to grab mine for £515 on the Cettire sale, and I’d say between £500 – £600 feels like the right price point, personally.
Given the price I paid – I’m really, really happy with this. It’s a luxe piece that simplifies an outfit, whilst bringing it together and elevating your look at the same time. Practical and elegant – what’s not to love?
