By Terry Baume de Rose

I’ve always been a huge lip balm fan. If I could have one dessert island beauty product, it would be a lip balm… and if I’m being honest, I prefer them to a lipstick. That’s why I don’t mind spending a little more on them, and why I always get excited when I find one that’s that extra bit special – just like ByTerry Baume de Rose.

Now let’s be honest… this is ridiculously pricey for a lip balm. Do you need it in your makeup bag? No. Can your beauty regime survive without it? Yes. But is it a lovely, lovely treat for yourself if you do have some money to spend, or wanted a gorgeous special occasion gift? Yes.

Apparently this stuff can be used on both your cuticles and lips, to be fair I haven’t tried it on my cuticles, so I can’t comment there… but I am a huge fan of using it on my lips. Fair enough, it isn’t groundbreaking – and that’s why I stated that you don’t need it – but it does enhance my lips, making them look much smoother and making the colour of them look ever so slightly, just that little bit prettier – I suppose the “your lips but better” kind of colour enhancement. As the name would suggest, there is quite a noticeable rose scent to it – that will be the rose flower wax – which I really enjoy, however if rose isn’t your thing, it’s potentially one to avoid. As well as rose flower wax, it also contains an abundance of other lovely, beautifying ingredients such as pastel oil, shea butter, and vitamin E.

I don’t find the product to be sticky at all, and I find it really adds moisture to my pout. It also does do a nice job of soothing, however it probably wouldn’t be the first thing I reach for if I was struggling with chapped lips. In my opinion, this one is better suited for your lips on a good day – basically just because of the price point. If you need some support for dry lips, save this for when you want to really enhance your look, and go for something like Eight Hour Cream instead.

A gorgeous lip balm that also sits super pretty on your dressing table. Not a must have by any means, but would make the loveliest Christmas or birthday gift, or even just a nice treat for yourself.
