Spending the Day in Knaresborough

When the sun is shining, and the weather is on point, there is honestly no place better in the world than England. A few weeks ago, we took an impromptu trip to Knaresborough – my boyfriend and I, along with my Mum and nephew. It’s such a lovely place to spend the day, there’s plenty to do and it really is one of Yorkshires true gems.

The view up from the castle is pretty hard to beat, and I’d recommend taking a stroll around the grounds as a must. It’s the perfect place to start your day, and we intend to return in a few weeks to enjoy a picnic in the sun there. After we explored the castle grounds, we ventured down to the boathouses to enjoy a lovely drink and bite to eat in the sun…

Once we were full and content, we then went for a little adventure on the boats. Again, if you visit – this is a must. It’s such a gorgeous and fun way to spend an hour, and it’s so peaceful and relaxing out on the water. FullSizeRender-5.jpeg

Once we’d finished our water adventure, it was back onto dry land to cool down with an ice cream, before a venture back up through the castle and a stroll around the shops. FullSizeRender-1.jpeg

Knaresborough has so many beautiful little shops and cafes, and we particularly enjoy having a look around the treasure trove of art shops there. There’s also a wonderful crystal shop called The Crystal Buddha which I always make sure to visit when I’m in the area.

Knaresborough to me is one of the highlights of being at home in Yorkshire, I really can’t recommend a trip there enough, even if it is a little out of your way. It’s perfect all year round, but if you want to make the most of your visit – I’d say summer is when it’s at its best.
