The Start of the Autumnal Season…

Ah it’s the most amazing time of the year again! Granted, things are a little different this year… and there has been some sadness given this year would have been the month of the wedding, I know that things will be very different next year – and hopefully, we will be getting married next October! Regardless of the world being a little… shall we say, odd? I’m still trying to make the most of it, and make it as lovely as possible – it’s quite hard not to anyway once the leaves start falling and there are those gorgeous scents in the air of sugar, and distant smoky fires; I find this season kind of has a natural excitement around it, regardless.

We had a gorgeous delivery of pumpkin sugar cookies this week from our very clever wedding cake maker – this made me really, really excited about next year. And speaking of beautiful deliveries, my friend also got me the most amazing bunch of autumnal flowers, which I can’t quite get over – they are absolutely stunning, and just so very me. I wish they could last forever… and I’m actually on the hunt for a similar faux version, so that they can.

Obviously with it being the start of Autumn, a Mean Girls viewing was a must! I had a cosy evening in bed, and watched it on my computer, with my new scented candle at the side of me… and also enjoyed a sneaky box of gigantic cookies too! Although disappointingly, I couldn’t manage to eat the whole lot in one sitting.

Autumn is the perfect time for woodland walks, and my Mum and I have been doing lots and lots of those – and this weekend we were lucky enough to come across some of the biggest toadstools I’ve ever seen. I absolutely love toadstools (or fly agaric as they are correctly called) I have so many ornamental ones in our flowerbeds at home, and it’s also my favourite emoji ever, too! I’ve been dragging my mum around the woods for a month or two now, desperate to see some, and so I felt extremely excited to come across these ones.

The weather is obviously turning a bit now, which means lots more time spent indoors and under blankets. To make the most of that, I ordered two new books – which I’m excited to make a start on – and we’ve also been enjoying all the amazing new TV that’s on right now… which may have been accompanied by a takeout Piccolino, or two!
