I love a bit of Rodial Beauty, especially the skincare – and the words pink and diamond… well, yes – sign me up. My past experience with Rodial is that it’s always been pricey, but worth it, and so I had high hopes for the Pink Diamond collection.
The Lifting Face Mask boasts lumière diamond powder to add radiance and glow; wheat proteins which work to tighten the collagen in the skin, giving you that lifted effect; pink grapefruit to exfoliate and brighten; and skin tightener ST, which apparently gives an instant anti gravity effect. One mask is £12 and you apply it (it’s a sheet mask) and leave on for 20-30 minutes. The mask had a gorgeous cooling effect, and did feel like a treat to apply; yes my skin was brighter and more plumped after application, however this is obviously temporary – and for £12 per application, was it really worth it? Probably not, no. A nice mask, but it didn’t stand out.
The Magic Day Gel comes in a really pretty, clever little packaging offering and again boasts that lumière diamond powder, as well as a decongesting ingredient niacinamide; as well as squalane which is though to condition and soothe the skin. Again… this was nice – really nice actually. But stand out? Sadly not. It did make my skin look bright and smooth, and would work as a lovely primer… but there are primers that are just as good, for almost half the price. I wanted to love this, but I just didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it – but would I purchase again? Sadly not.
However! Not all is lost… the Soft Glow Focus Drops I did love. I really loved them, and I’ve actually already re purchased. I use these on no makeup days, and they really do transform my skin making it look bright, radiant and awake. They add a tiny amount of lustre to my skin, just enough to look like I’ve been eating five a day for the past 10 years; and religiously drinking water. They’re also a real treat to apply too and are very gentle on the skin. Yay! We have a winner.
