D.S. & Durga Steamed Rainbow

Well, rarely do I do a single post these days dedicated to a single product, but this one… it needed its own little ode. I’ve enjoyed DS & Durga products for years now, namely the candles – the insanely unique and *fill your whole home with scent in two seconds* candles, but this year, they’ve finally brought the actual GOODS, the perfumes, to the UK market. I want them all, to be honest, but they are pricey – and from the listed notes and description, I knew Steamed Rainbow had to be the one I chose.

Every other review I saw on this, it said do not blind buy, and I agree – unless you’re me… because, well, I don’t think I’ve ever found a perfume that’s more me before – I just knew this was going to be my kind of scent as soon as I saw it. So, the listed notes are: (R)ed mandarin; (O)range; (Y)ellow elemi resin; (G)reen cedar; (B)lue almond flower; (I)ndigo grass; (V)iolet, (V)etyver, (V)apors. See what they did there, with the full rainbow notes? They’re a clever lot over at D.S & Durga – I’ve always thought it, I mean, who else can produce a candle that smells like the scent of lighting hitting a pavement? – but anyway, those are their notes, but my notes, I get: the smell of planting my tomatoes; the smell of walking into an airport in a tropical country; the smell of my garden after it rains in the middle of summer; the smell of a clean, simplistic, has her life together woman; the smell of freshly misted tropical fruit and vegetables; the smell of deep summer in England; and happiness.

I love it. I love this perfume. LOVE IT. D.S & Durga smart people… if you ever read this – please don’t stop making this, ever. It’s pure joy to me. Happiness in a bottle.
