Charlotte Tilbury New In – Supersonic Girl Palette of Pops & Pillow Talk Superstar Lips

Charlotte Tilbury Supersonic Girl Pillow Talk Superstar Lips

Ms Tilbury has slowly been treating us to all her festive releases over the past few weeks, and two (one, a long awaited one!), really caught my eye.

This year, she’s released two limited edition eyeshadow palettes, but excitingly, this time we’ve been gifted with palettes that contain all “pop” shades. If you’re familiar with her eyeshadow palette concepts already, you’ll know that each one always contains a pop shade to finish the look, and add sparkle and glamour. If I’m being honest, these shades are what attracts me to buying her palettes the most, and I think she’d created a really unique selling point with them, so to have the option of a palette with all sparkle shade options, was just too exciting for me to miss.

As mentioned, there’s two options, an earthy toned palette called Starlight; and a warm, bronzy-red palette called Supersonic Girl. I was most attracted to Supersonic Girl, as the Dolce Vita is my own personal favourite of all the non limited edition palettes, and the one that suits me most – these shades reminded me slightly of The Dolce Vita, and so I felt they would work quite well with my skin tone.

Is this palette something you most definitely need in your collection? I would say no. It’s one that you’ll probably want to use in conjunction with other palettes / eyeshadows – so if you’re looking for a one trick palette, this one probably isn’t it. But it is beautiful, and has made a welcome addition to my eyeshadow collection – especially for the season of sparkle that is upon us. I’ve swatched the shades with and without a flash for you to get an idea, but they are very, very sparkly and don’t disappoint if it’s shimmer that you’re after. It is however worth noting however, that they apply much better when you use your fingers, as oppose to a brush – you just get more pigment and depth that way – so do bear that in mind.

Next up was a long awaited offering for me, one I had known was coming for a while – another addition to the Pillow Talk family, in the form of Superstar Lips. A lipstick in effect, but glides on like a balm, and shines like a gloss – you get the pigment of a lipstick, the nourishing feeling of a balm, and the sparkle of a gloss. I really, really love this one, and I’m hoping the range moves to a permanent addition. It’s more of a daytime option I feel personally, as sometimes I find lipstick can be too much for me in the daytime, especially when at work – Superstar lips allows me to enjoy that touch of glam, without it being too OTT. Oh, and as always with me (the marketeers dream) I bloody adore the packaging of it. I highly recommend.
