A Huge Charlotte Tilbury Haul

Affiliate.pngIt’s been a lonnnng while since I’ve done one of these – truth be told, I haven’t needed to, as I had so many lovely makeup items already. But once Autumn hits, I crave new pieces for my collection, and so I did my usual September clear out, and allowed myself to purchase some gorgeous wish list items, to revamp my makeup bag this season.

First thing I had my eye on, and I have for a while, was the new Walk of Shame eyeshadow palette. To be honest, I’d been toying with the UD Naked Heat Palette all summer, but then I saw Charlotte Tilbury had released their version of a red / rose gold palette, and my heart was instantly stolen… I mean – can we just take a minute with these swatches!!! (As always, with and without flash for comparison).

Next on my hit list was the new Pillow Talk additions. I am obsessed with Pillow Talk, I literally own the entire collection, and have re purchased the lipliner, lipstick and blush numerous times – speaking of that, I actually picked up another PT blush, and lipstick on this order. Anyway, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I found out they were bringing out the shade in a limited edition Palette of Pops (all the sparkly shades) and the Lip Lustre (gloss) – they were released onto the website on Thursday, and I’d already bagged them at 8am… I was that excited. In fact, I was so excited, I actually ordered two of the palette of pops; and once I applied the lip lustre, I instantly placed an order for another, which is on its way now. I kid you not, it’s amazing. It has the best coverage, and for me is just the perfect nudey pink tone, that really suits my skin tone. I do however want to point out for the sake of the swatches, that I have lip filler – I would hate for anyone to purchase a product on the basis that it changes the shape of your lips, it doesn’t.

Anyway, I kind of went off on a tangent there with the lip lustre… so back to the Palette. The usual sparkly, wonderful explosion you’d expect from these shimmery additions – once again, it didn’t disappoint. In my opinion, CT make some of the best glitter eyeshadows on the market. I’d absolutely love for this to be made permanent, but she hasn’t done that with any of the others, so I’m not too sure that will happen. What I will point out, is that these shades need to be applied with the finger really, to get the best effect. You can use a brush, but they won’t be as pigmented. The swatches have been applied with my finger.

Newness I also bagged, was two shades from the Hot Lips 2 lipstick collection – JK Magic and Dancefloor Princess. Now, I’m not guna lie here… I picked up JK Magic purely for the packaging – you see these are refillable, and so I thought if the shade doesn’t work out, I’ll just re fill it with another Dancefloor Princess. But, to my pleasant surprise, this shade is actually the perfect nude for me, it’s stunning – and so I shall be keeping said shade in the bullet, and also replacing it when it runs out – complete winner there, eh! Now, Dancefloor Princess… so when these came out, I was absolutely delighted to find out CT had released a pink shade; I honestly feel like her lipstick range lacks this – yes there’s Penelope Pink, but that’s really more of a nude than a pink – and Kim KW is way too pale for me – nude pinks are my fav, so I was super excited to get this. Then I read the reviews – there were so many saying it wasn’t pink, that the website wasn’t correct, and it’s actually a peach shade – and so, this purchase nearly didn’t happen; I wanted pink, not peach. To add further fuel to the fire, I hated the packaging – I thought it looked quite tacky, and I’m really not a leopard print fan – and so for quite a while I parked my purchase, until just recently.

Oh my god, I am so glad I did purchase it!!! First of all, there is nothing tacky about the packaging, if you’re also worried about this, I advise you to go see them in real life, as it’s actually stunning. Seriously, the website just doesn’t do it justice – I am obsessed!!! Secondly, the colour – this is most definitely a pink – in fact, I’d say the CT website swatches are pretty dead on, and I can’t really understand all the reviews about it being a peach shade. I think sometimes, what can happen with cameras (and it’s slightly happened with my swatch picture too), is that the warmth of the camera can add an orange tone to the pink shade – but honestly, it’s pink – a stunning pink, that is very similar to my natural lip shade; I think this one may actually take over Pillow Talk as my top go to shade now. Both of these lipsticks are extremely moisturising to the lip – they’re non matte – and glide on like a dream. I’m really happy with these two purchases.
