Christian Dior Ambre Nuit

I feel like 2021 really catapulted the Dior La Collection Privée fragrances into the limelight, ever since the addition of Vanilla Diorama, I see these fragrances gracing more and more dressing tables – and rightly so. La Colle Noir has been in my collection for years now (not the same bottle, may I add!) and I’m obsessed with Jasmin Des Anges in the summer; so in December I decided to treat myself to another one from the collection, Ambre Nuit.

This came about after I placed an online order for a Christmas gift – the beauty site are so generous with samples, and a mini version of this had been included in my order, to which I instantly fell in love with and literally snapped up the full size bottle the very next day. Advertised as being for both men and women, I actually find this one much more on the feminine side – but I do see that it could work for men too. It’s a really complex blend of woody, pepper, musky notes, with some sparking citrus and rose thrown in the mix too. It’s different – by far not the most stand out in terms of uniqueness that I’ve ever tried – but enough to stand out from the usual market offerings. Longevity and silage can (to be perfectly honest) be a bit hit and miss with this collection – but Ambre Nuit gives you your moneys worth on both counts here – so much so, I’d definitely associate it with a winter fragrance wardrobe; I think it would be too heavy for the summer months, especially in the daytime.

I’d repeat purchase this one without a doubt. Gorgeous, timeless packaging, enough throw to make you feel like you’ve spent your money well, and an edge and difference that makes people question what you are wearing, in the best possible way. Love!
